Blogmas Day 4 ¦ Top 10 high end favourites

I did this post about a year ago and I thought it was about time I updated it as my favourites are completely different. So without further ado lets get one with it as I feel like it's going to involve a lot of gushing.

Starting off with bases I had to include the Urban Decay Naked foundation this is just my favourite foundation for dry skin. It's a beautiful medium coverage which can be built up beautifully. It doesn't sink into any dry patches and just sits so nicely on my skin. I also picked out the Bare minerals complexion rescue which is again another beautiful formula for dry skin. This is a much lower coverage than the Naked skin foundation and it is the base I always reach for on good skin days and days which my skin is even drier than usual. For my concealer I picked out the Clarins instant concealer I do love the Naked concealer however this one is just a little bit better. I find this works beautifully on anything I need it for whether it be my dark circles, blemishes or redness. Again it just sits beautifully on my dry skin and doesn't sink into any dry patches. Can you sense the theme!

For the rest of my face I had to include the Benefit Hoola bronzer which is just the perfect bronzer for pale skins. It blends beautifully into the skin and looks incredibly natural whilst still adding some warmth to the face. For blush I had to pick out the Illamasqua blush duo in Lover and hussy these blushes are absolutely stunning, highly pigmented and just beautiful shades. For the brows it was a close call between Anastasia dip brow and Gimme brow from Benefit. In the end I went for Gimme brow as it is one of those products I feel like I will always have in my collection. It's perfect for no makeup days when I just want a little bit of texture in my brows but I also love using it over any other brow products to just set them in place.

Dose of colours, Bare with me, Truffle and Kiss of fire, YSL 47, Clinique Poppy pop, Gimme brow, Hoola bronzer, Illamasqua Lover and Hussy, Urban decay, Pop, Anaheim and Punk.
For eyes I had to pick an Urban decay palette and in the end I settled on the Gwen Stefani palette as it's definitely the one I get the most use out of. I love that it is mostly neutrals however it has those few pops of colour. I especially love the blue for on my lower lash line. As with all Urban decay shadows these are beautifully pigmented and creamy and blend like an absolute dream. Then finally for lips I had to include the Dose of Colours liquid lipsticks, they are so beautifully velvety and comfortable on the lips. Highly pigmented and extremely long lasting they are definitely my favourite Liquid lipstick formula I have tried. Then for actual lipsticks I picked out the YSL Rouge volupte shine in the shade 47 which is just the most beautiful pinky brown nude shade. It is incredibly glossy on the lips so I find it perfect for the days when my lips are feeling a bit dry and gross. Finally my 10th pick is the Clinique Lip pop in the shade Poppy pop which is a orangey red shade. Again it feels very comfortable and although it feels very hydrating it still lasts really well.

So that's it for today I hope you enjoyed this post!

Blogmas Day 3 ¦ New Mac lipstick additions

I feel like if John Lewis has 15% off mac lipsticks you just have to take that opportunity and grab it. I've been pondering over purchasing some new Mac shades for a while now and I figured there's no better time than the present. Especially when the present involves 15% off. In the end a few of the shades I wanted where out of stock so I picked out two nudes I'd heard a lot about and two darker shades off my list. I ended up picking 3 matte shades and a lustre shade which is a Mac formula I hadn't tried before however one I really like.

So without further ado lets get onto the shades I picked. First off I went for sin which is a stunning autumnal purple matte shade, this was one I had seen in quite a few Mac lipstick collections and knew I wanted. It is just on of those perfect autumnal/winter shades and one I feel like I'm going to get a lot of wear out of in the next couple of months. Next up I went for Whirl which is a shade which is so hyped up on blogs and in videos. I'm a little undecided about this shade on me however it is very pretty in the swatch. The swatch makes it look a beautiful pinky brown however I'm not sure on me whether it pulls just a little too yellow. I'm definitely going to have to wear it a couple more times before making my final verdict.

The third and final matte shade is Diva, even though this one looks very similar to Sin in the swatch it is actually a much more red toned berry. Think on the lines of Rimmel 107 but darker whereas Sin is a darker version of Rebel. All three of the matte finishes are incredibly comfortable to wear however I would say that whirl is a tiny bit more drying than the other Mac matte lipsticks I have. Finally we have the lustre finish I picked up. I've heard so many good things about the shade Syrup and I have to say I think it is my favourite shade out of the four I picked up on this occasion. It is an incredibly comfortable formula to wear and one of those shades that is perfect for just chucking on without a mirror. It's a gorgeous pinky rose nude which is my perfect my lips but better colour. I
would definitely recommend this one for anyone who is looking for a nice everyday shade.

Sin, Whirl, Diva, Syrup
I'd love to know what Mac shades are on your wishlists and what shades you think I need to own!

I love a good Mac lipstick collection, especially ones with lip swatches so I really enjoyed this. I definitely need Velvet teddy even more after reading this post!

These look so incredible and also seem super simple. They would be perfect for just throwing together, I seriously need to get round to making some.

This was such an interesting read, there is so much whisper about bought followers lately and it was so interesting to read about the experience from a bloggers perspective.

The Makeup directory - Top Berry lip picks
Berry lipstick posts are one of my favourite things about this time of year, especially ones that are as well written as Sally's posts are.

Tara Daniella - Gingerbread cheesecake
Another baking post, this cheesecake sounds so delicious and is something I'm definitely going to be baking it at Christmas time.

At the Beauty Desk - Stuffed sweet potato recipe
Ever since going veggie I'm always on the lookout for super easy and healthy recipes and this one looks super delicious and easy.

I love posts with a bit of everything in them, this one is a little lifestyle and a little beauty, I love the way Jasmine writes and I would highly recommend everyone.

If you are a regular reader you will know how much I love liquid lipsticks so I love a good roundup post. I'd definitely recommend you check this out if you are wanting to try some new formulas.

So I'm ending this post with a super relatable post, I love makeup like I love biscuits but I completely get all these points on so many levels.

Blogmas Day 1 ¦ November makeup

Welcome to Blogmas day one guys, today I thought I would show you the makeup that I have been wearing this month. I've bought quite a few new bits this month so it's been pretty difficult to whittle it down however I managed so without further ado lets get on!

For my base I have fallen back in love with the Bourjois Healthy mix serum, this foundation is stunning and reminds me of a slightly thicker version of the Urban decay Naked skin foundation. It's a medium coverage and just looks really beautiful and glowy on the skin. Definitely one I would recommend for people with dry skin. For both my under eye and blemish concealer I've been using the Clarins Instant concealer this is one of my all time favourite concealers which gets no way near enough hype if you ask me. It again like the foundation doesn't dry out my skin and adds a really beautiful coverage without looking thick or cakey.

For my face I've been using Mac Fleur power which is a really pretty pinky peach colour which works so well with whatever eye makeup I'm wearing. I've then been reaching for Benefit Hoola bronzer again as I am pretty much back to my Casper the ghost shade of pale and it is just a little cooler toned than the Urban Decay beached bronzer and that's it for my face. I haven't actually been reaching for a highlight this month as I had quite a bad breakout on my right cheek so I've been skipping it.

Eyeshadow wise I've been using the Zoeva Caramel Melange palette which I swear was actually made for me. my favourite shades are Aftertaste which is a beautiful orange shade. Start soft which is a warm chocolate brown and Liquid centre which is an incredible metallic foiled shade. For my lashes again I've been using LancĂ´me Hypnose mascara and the No7 Extreme lengths mascara. Then finally to finish off my eyes I use a little of the NYX Wonder pencil in Light in my waterline to brighten them up.

To finish off I've been using the Anastasia Dip brow in Medium brown which is just the perfect brow product for me. Then I've been using Mac Syrup to just add a little bit of colour and gloss to the lips.
