#BigBlogmasproject2014 - Etsy decoration wishlist.

When I thought of this topic for the project I knew I would go to etsy for my decoration wishlist. There is some gorgeous decorations on there and a lot of them are really affordable. My dad is super possessive over our christmas tree and he gets a little bit obsessive about it (sorry dad but you know it's true!) so all our decorations match perfectly so I can't wait till I have my own christmas tree that I can cover with lot's of cute bits like the ones above!

#BigBlogmasproject2014 - Christmas yankee candle haul

I love Yankee candles and the christmas scents hit the nail on the head for me. I love the warmth and sweetness of the christmas scents so on a recent trip to Boundary mill I picked up some new candles and I thought I'd show you them!

Merry Marshmallow.

I had this scent last year and really enjoyed it. It reminds me of Fireside treats but a little lighter and less smoky. I also think it's a little sweeter and the vanilla fragrance comes through much stronger. For some reason this was marked up as only £2.40 so I'm not sure if this one isn't going to be on the Yankee website this year.

Sugared apple.

This one is a beautiful  mix of sweet and fresh. At first I thought it might be quite heavy and far too sickly but they seem to have focused on the crisp fresh elements of apple rather than the sweet elements. I really like this one and it's nice if you want something very fresh but still sweet.

Cranberry ice.

This is another very fresh sweet scents, this one is a little sweeter than sugared apple. This being said it is very fresh and is one I feel like I can burn way into the spring.

Snowflake cookie.

I think this is my favourite christmas scent. It's super sweet (my mum thinks it's quite sickly) it makes the house smell like you've been baking which in my books gives it 10/10.

Sparkling cinnamon.

I love sweet and spicy fragranced things at this time of year and this was a complete bargain. It was just over £8 which for a medium jar is amazing (There RRP is £16.99) I also really love the sparkly snowflakes on the label so it was instantly a winner. This is really strong and I find you can still smell it for hours after you've blown it out!

So that was my mini Yankee haul. I really hope you enjoyed this post.

#BigBlogmasproject2014 - Women's gift guide

1//  Who doesn't love a little bit skincare and when it's Clarins who can say no. I'd love to wake up on christmas morning and find this under my tree.

2//  This is a brilliant for people who aren't big on beauty or bath and body stuff. It's such a cute stocking filler!

3// I always think No7 are very underrated as a makeup brand. They are such high quality for a drugstore brand. This gift set is a mix of some of their best selling products.

4// Both my mum and my nana love champneys as a brand, again they are really high quality and have a very luxurious feel to them.

5// I have every intention of buying this for myself in the next couple of weeks. A full size Hoola, They're real and porefessional as well as a mini benetint for less than £45! Yes please.

6// Finally I have a little beauty stocking filler. I love essie nail polishes and I love these little sets. These would be perfect for friends.

#BigBlogmasproject2014 - The winter makeup edit.

Welcome to the first Big blogmas project post. This has been such a long time coming as I've been planning this since august so I'm glad that it's finally getting started. Today I thought I'd show you some of the pieces of makeup I've been reaching for recently.

So first off for base I've been using the Seventeen skin wow mixed into my foundation for a little bit of glow, this is a really lovely pinky toned highlight which looks amazing in foundation but also look lovely on the top of the cheekbones for a subtle highlight. The other thing I have for my face is the Sleek Blush by 3 in Pink lemonade I tend to gravitate towards pink blushes in the winter rather than the more peachy tones I reach for in the summer. These blushes are really pigmented and a very little goes a long way. I'd really recommend these to blush enthusiasts but for newbies I'd start with something a little less pigmented.

For eyes I've been reaching for lot's of burgundy shades the Maybelline colour tattoo in Metallic pomegranate was something I used a lot last winter and I've been reaching for it a lot this time around too. It's the most gorgeous mix of purple, red and brown with lots of gold shimmer, which makes my eyes pop. I love the fact that even though it's not a brown or a cream it still looks fairly neutral. I've also been reaching for the NYC Individual eyes palette in Midtown mauve which has a gorgeous mix of shades to create a burgundy smokey eye. The shadow's are really nice and pigmented for the price. However I'm not a big fan of the primer or the illuminator as they are both quite tacky and sticky.

For lips I've not only been reaching for the more berry and vampy shades I've also been wearing a red lip quite a lot. The red I've been reaching for is the L'oreal colour riche in Scarlett creme,I'm not actually sure if you can pick this up as I got it in a christmas set last year. The formula of these lipsticks is so creamy and it glides onto the lips and feels really moisturizing. For berry lips I've been reaching for the Catrice Smoothing lip polish in Jen and Berry's this is just amazing it can be put on really sheer for that juicy sheer berry lip look or can be built up to a really deep pinky berry shade. They are glossy, long lasting and pure amazing! Finally for lips I've been reaching for Rimmel's Moisture renew lipstick in Glam plum fulham which is the most amazing glossy vampy purple. The only problem I have with this is it can slip about so I have to keep an eye on it so if you're one for no mess lip products this won't be one for you!

I've not really been reaching for vampy nail colours recently I've been gravitating more towards the blues and purples. Essie Aruba blue is one of my all time favourite shades. It's beautiful all year round but I find it looks stunning against super pale skin. The Maxfactor Glossfinity nail polish in Cobalt blue is something that I don't think I've ever heard anyone talk about. The formula reminds me of a thinner version of the Barry M gelly nail paints. They are really glossy and last a good amount of time on the nails. The final thing in this years winter edit is the Barry M Gelly nail paint in Plum. This is probably my most worn out of my three nail picks this season. In the bottle it looks like a fairly plain deep aubergine purple but on the nails it is so deep it almost looks like a purple-y navy blue. I love the formula of these polishes they paint beautifully, dry quickly and last well.
