Blogmas ¦ Day 21 - The pros and cons of laser hair removal.

Hi guys, for todays blog post I've got a fab post about the pros and cons of laser hair removal. It's not something I personally have tried myself but I'm definitely considering after reading all the pros. So I hope you guys find this post useful.
Unwanted hair can really be a pain, especially if you don't want to be shaving and waxing it away
almost constantly. So, you might think that the best solution is to have laser treatment. After all, that
will just zap the hair away for good, right? Well, that isn't exactly true. Laser hair removal procedures
are a great solution, but they aren't magical. It's important to have realistic expectations. So, here are
some things to remember.
It is absolutely true that they can get rid of hair in a more exact and effective way than waxing or
shaving. First of all, a single procedure is extremely accurate, and won't leave any embarrassing single hairs behind like shaving might. In the long term, they are also more effective than those methods because the machines can pinpoint hairs and get rid of them all the way down to the follicles, which means that they won't return as quickly as they might after you shave them. After all, shaving only removes what you can see, not what lies beneath.
Another nice thing about a Hair removal laser is that it tends to not be as painful as waxing, at least according to most patients. It's also much more comfortable than having electrolysis. That and the fact that it is a quick procedure that usually takes only an hour or so make it extremely popular.
Side Effects That You Could Experience
Of course, when you make your first appointment, you should be aware ahead of time that there could be some slight side effects. The most common one is that your skin could be red for several hours after you leave the clinic. Some swelling may also happen, but that's generally more common during other forms of laser skin treatment, such as wrinkle reduction.
A more serious problem is that you could have some sort of reaction to the beam or its effects. For
example, you could develop blisters, welts, or changes in skin colour. But the good news is that all of
those side effects are extremely rare when patients choose their treatments wisely.
What Does Choosing a Procedure Wisely Mean?
Depending on the colour of your skin, the colour of your hair, and your general skin health, certain types of machines may not be suitable to remove your unwanted hair. That's because the heat from the lasers combined with the fact that many of them are designed to target darker hair can react badly to your particular combination of skin and hair. But don't let that stop you because there are plenty of machines that actually can work for you, especially when operated by trained technicians.
Perfect and Permanent Results Don't Exist
One final thing to remember, if you want to have realistic expectations, is that there is no such thing as perfect or permanent results. Most of these treatments are done in a series of consecutive appointments. And, while some hairs might never come back after that series is done, some will. But no matter what you should have to shave or wax far less often once you undergo those appointments.

Blogmas ¦ Day 5 - The gift guide post

I've think I've done a kind of wishlist type gift guide every year I think but this year I decided that I was going to do an actual physical gift guide. I also decided to go for under £20 as I thought it would be helpful for secret Santa's and presents for friends. So I picked out a couple of baubles, a couple of crackers and then a few more bit.

So I'm going to start off with the non beauty bits. So first off I picked out one of the your dreamcatcher vest top £10* which I picked out as I am so in love with their festive packaging. This month they are offering gift wrapping and a cute little dreamcatcher in each package. For the foodie I had to mention the Graze box at £4 a box depending on your budget it depends how many boxes you want to get someone. I also picked out a little Yankee sampler kit from Asda which is perfect for if you want to get a lot of people something little as a token.  Finally I thought I'd include a little home gift at £20 the lily flame reed diffusers aren't the most budget but they are well worth it. They pretty much scent the entire house and last for a good 2-3 months.

Next up we have crackers The body shop are one of my favourite shops for festive gifts and with a love your body card you can get 30% of most of their Christmas gifts. This meant that the shea cracker only cost me £3.50 for a lip butter and a little soap. My mum absolutely loves the Crabtree and Evelyn hand creams so I picked her up this little cracker which contains one of their hand creams. This was only about £4 so if you know someone  who loves then it's definitely a nice little stocking filler.

I also picked my mum up the Crabtree and Evelyn bauble which has two more of the hand creams in which I thought would be absolutely fab if you got someone in secret Santa which you didn't know very well. I also picked out one of the Ted baker baubles £4 as they are so beautifully packaged the one I picked up contains a mini mint body soufflĂ©, Finally bauble wise is the seventeen nail effects bauble which is so perfect for this time of year as it contains two fabulous glitter polishes.

Another one that would be brilliant for someone who you don't know very well is this Nivea skin set which contains things like face wipes, lip balms and moisturizer which I think makes a brilliant gift. Not only for someone you don't know but for someone who loves a good pamper. Finally I picked out a set of matte lipsticks from Primark which contains three really on trend shades. We have a berry shade, a dark pinky nude and a orangey red shade.

So that's it for my gift guide, I'd love to see some of your gift guides so make sure you leave links in the comment.

Blogmas ¦ Day 3 - The beauty reward card roundup

I love a good beauty reward card so today I thought I'd show you ones I think are worth having.

The Body shop love your body club -

Up until very recently the body shop card was £5 a year and you received a free gift when you signed up or renewed. This way you received 10% off everything you bought. Recently they have swapped to a point system where you receive 10 points per pound and each point is worth a penny. They also do offers throughout the year that give members special perks. You can get these points in denominations of £5 and you can use then towards a product or just them. I think this is a really fab card to have especially if you do a lot of shopping in the body shop.

Superdrug Beauty card -

Out of these four cards I would say that this one is the one that I wouldn't tell you to rush out and get. You receive 1 point per pound which is worth a penny so they do build up really slowly. However they do have special points offers on certain products. The good thing about these is that you can use them in denominations of a £1 towards a shop unlike in boots when you have to pay completely in points or completely in money.

Space NK N.dulge card -

This one is one I don't use to often however it definitely is well worth it for each pound you spend you receive one point and each point is worth 5p. However if you aren't a regular spender at Space NK points do run out after 12 months if you don't use them. This is one of the cards that I would only suggest getting if you are a regular shopper. You can also be upgraded to a level two card where points are worth 10p however it requires you to spend £1000 over the course of the year and if during the year you have the level two card you don't spend £1000 pound again you go back to being a level one member.

Boots Advantage card -

Saving the best till last in my eyes this one is the bee's knee's of all the reward cards. For each £1 you spend you receive 4 points and each point is worth 1 penny. I think this one is so brilliant as it means that you can pick up all your toiletries and even your lunch whilst earning 4 points for every pound you spend. Boots also send out vouchers quarterly with things like double points and so many points if you spend a certain amount and they have an app which I'm pretty sure gets new E-vouchers monthly which you can upload straight onto your card. The one complaint I do have about this card is that your points must cover the full amount of your purchase so you can't pay half in points and half in cash or anything like that.

So that's my roundup I hope you enjoyed it and if their are any reward cards you feel I'm missing out on let me know in the comments.

Beauty ¦ Veet Natural inspirations wax strips*

Veet Natural inspirations Wax strips*

When I was contacted by the PR company for Veet I debated for ages about whether I wanted to try the hair removal cream or the Wax strips. I decided in the end that I'd let the PR decide and when I opened my package to find the wax strips I must admit I was slightly terrified. A couple of days later I finally plucked up the courage to give them a go. Now I'm not going to lie, they absolutely kill however the pain is for such a small amount of time I spent more time bigging myself up to pull of the strip than actually thinking about how much it hurt.

The last time I tried waxing I tried the Veet melt your own wax and do it yourself and I really didn't get along with it. However this was completely different, they were super easy to use and they weren't half as messy as the wax roll on. I was a little confused at first as I only had 10 strips in the box however I realised that they are double strips. The only think I would say is that I find that the perfect finish wipes aren't the best for getting rid of the extra wax so I would definitely recommend doing this before showering/bathing and not doing it in the middle of the day and putting brand new sweatpants on (It doesn't end well think lots of bits stuck to little patches on my legs)
